About Word Aware

The Training

This comprehensive training has been designed to help participants translate research into practice. Led by an accredited Word Aware trainer and tenured speech-language pathologist, Aoife Mc Namara, this course provides expert guidance and practical ideas that can be immediately implemented to better support children’s vocabulary growth.

Our Word Aware training is well-suited for classroom teachers, resource teachers, student support workers, administrators, senior leadership, speech-language pathologists, and educational psychologists. Participants can opt for online or in-person training offered as a one-day workshop or three 1.5-hour Twilight sessions.

Testimonials

★★★★★

I attended a Word Aware training with Aoife. It was amazing to be introduced to such a practical, hands-on program that can be implemented as a tier 1 strategy in classrooms. Aoife is a fantastic resource, very knowledgeable in both language and literacy. I also love seeing SLPs more involved in literacy and in advocating for how we can support in school initiatives. -

I loved the Word Aware training and the thought and care that went into the delivery of the information as well as the incredible follow up. It truly was one of the most engaging courses I have ever taken. I've already shared my excitement with the staff at my school. Really just so wonderful. Thank you!
